I noticed that my reed starts to sqweak. I never experienced that before. I've always used the same reed/mpc combo and it worked just well, so the reed strenght is good. I use to sand my reeds to have the response I like, is it because of that ? The original one from the box don't sqweak though ... Usualy sqweaks when tonguing.
Any ideas why it's sqweaking ?
thanks to all

Assuming you are an experienced player, *and* you are doing everything else correctly, squeaks come from unbalanced reeds. When the reed is coupled and vibrating with the air column in the saxophone, it is forced to vibrate at the much lower frequencies of the saxophone's various pitches. The natural, resonant frequency of the reed is *much* higher -- and when the reed vibrates at this much higher frequency -- out-of-control -- it's a squeak. Without getting into the black arts of reed balancing/adjusting, I'd say to just set that reed aside for a while and try another one. Also, you might give that reed another try in a few weeks and find that it works fine.
