Hello, I'm ordering a runyon mouthpiece for my c-melody, and am not sure which facing number to get. I want something similar to a selmer D opening. Thanks for the advice in advance!

You might want to go to the Runyon website and then E-mail them for the equivalent value for a C melody mouthpiece. I don't even know if Selmer ever made a mouthpiece for a C melody sax.

Sorry I wasn't clear; what I meant was I have a Selmer C* Tenor mpc and a Selmer Jazz E tenor mpc (which I use on tenor, and have tried on C-Melody too). The C* doesn't have quite a wide enough tip opening for me, and the jazz E is a little too wide. So I was thinking whatever is equivalent to a D selmer-wise would be what I wanted. Suggestions? Thanks again in advance.

If you are using standard tenor sax reeds on it, you might like a tenor Runyon 4 (.076") or 5 (.080"). These are Bb tenor sizes. I do not know what sizes the C-melody Runyons come in.

The Selmer D is equal to the Runyon 5 no matter if you use the Altp or Tenor chart
