Let's say you've got a good playing Link STM with sufficient brightness and projection, and you'd like to make it produce a more focused sound without adding brightness, what changes do you make to the mouthpiece?

You may get some ideas from an old post on the web. Do a search to find:

In the post Jon talks about making the chamber smaller by adding epoxy to the baffle/roof and sides. I've seen/worked on one of Jon's Links. It makes the newer Links more like some of the better Florida Links. This "does it" for a lot of players. But I think it works because it adds a tad bit of brightness evenly to all registers.
Some still find them too dark and tubby, which does not sound like your problem. These players are happier with adding some additional baffle, or switching to a Link-like piece that has more baffle, like a Ponzol.
