Your opinion, please.

I have a Pan American C Melody sax. I have two mpcs for it:

1.Maccaferri Nylon Bi Matic medium.
The Maccaferri has what appears to be a bushed hole where it goes on the sax. A chunk of the bushing is broken out and someone tried to fix it with what looks like Bondo which is also broken out.
Question: Is the Maccaferri fixable and worth fixing?

2.Otto Link 5* Super Tone Master (brass)
The Otto Link (I had no idea it was such an expensive mpc until reading SOTW) gives what I would call a harsh sound. Me or the mpc?

I doubt either is a real C Melody mouthpiece. There are new ones available from Runyon, Beechler, Babbit, Morgan and others. I find that some tenor pieces are OK but a bit buzzy and just today I went through about 50 Alto and Tenor mouthpieces with my Martin C and so far the Selmer S-90 (larger chamber) in a 190 facing is the best all around.
