Hi, I am a guitarist in a 5 piece band, and we have an 8 piece gig coming up. I'm looking for horn charts for trombone, tenor & trumpet. We play mainly James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Etta James type stuff & lots of shuffles. Does anyone know where I can download a few charts? I can offer some transcriptions of solos by Miles, K. Garrett, J. Scofield. Encore on a Mac.
Thanks

Slink, try the following midi web site;
http://members.aol.com/schneidl3/midisearch.html
1.Type in the name of the song over "forest gump"
2. click "sort by length" at the top of the next page
3. pick the web pages with the highest # of bytes for the best arrangements. Go to that page.
4. find the song and download it onto a floppy.
5. open the midi with a music reading program such as Cakewalk
6. click on the staff that you want to print.
I have seen others ask the same question over the years w/o a response. Probably because most of us have the horn lines memorized. However, a midi file can be downloaded and the horn part printed. Some midi notation is hard to follow but it will make enough sense to get the lines that you need. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the web site Frank...have you heard these charts and are they good, in your opinion? The price is certainly good.
Thanks

No, I actually have no experience with these folks. I came across the website while looking for something else. I've never seen their charts and can't make any recommendation. Perhaps someone else has used them?
I have some charts, but they're hard copy & mostly for Trpt, Alto, Tenor (Trpt II), some bari & some trombone, also all R&B/Soul tunes.

I will definitely be buying more from Michael if I get in another time bind. It was mentioned that they're hard copy but he'll send them e-mail as PDF files. Recommended.
