I play a MkVI bari, and I currently use a metal Yanigasawa 6. On my Tenor, I use the same and I love it, but on the bari, it feels uncomfortable when I play it. I'd like a MPC that gives me a lot of power, but maintains the consistency over the range of the horn. I'd like to sound like Ronnie Cuber too, but I don't know where to get a Francois Louis MPC from. Any help would be appreciated...

I also play a Mark VI and have two "go to" mpcs. I have a HR Morgan 7J that I have had for three or four years and really like. Great intonation, rich warm sound up and down the horn. You can hear something of what it sounds like on a couple of clips (Stranger On The Shore, Misty) on my website - <www.richardwade.net> if you can ignore the poor recording quality (I was experimenting with an analog 4 track recorder with questionable quality). I also just bought a Runyon Jaguar #10 which provides power and edge, but still sounds rich up and down the horn. It is taking a little getting used to, but I think I am really going to like it. I use #2 Fibracell reeds on both. I do mainly small combo jazz stuff, and I sat in the other night with the Jaguar and the other guys noticed the difference. Either mpc can be had for somewhere around $200 plus or minus. Charlie A has good Runyon prices and JunkDude can fix you up with a Morgan.

Try a Lamberson if you want a killer Bari mpc. The Runyon Quantum is great too. I have a Morgan 7J here that I'm not using if you're interested.

Does anyone what model and size Lamberson Ronnie Cuber plays ? Any comments regarding how the Lamberson's play would be most welcome as well.
Thanks !

Cuber is not playing a Lamberson (Though Glenn Wilson is). Ronnie Cuber is playing a costom-made piece by Francois Louis. When he played Links, he used an 8*, so I imagine it's a similar tip opening for the Louis.
