I'm entering a song where the key changes at the bridge. What's the proper way to change the key for the bridge without changing for the whole song? The song changes from concert 'C' to concert 'F' at the bridge.

I'm a beginer with BIAB and getting frustrated.

Thanks for the help.

Just enter the proper chord changes at the bridge. There shouldn't be any playback problems. ......... If you want to print music proper accidentals will be incuded. If you want to note a key change in the sheet music hand edit.

You can change keys a multiple amount of times - just put in the new key chord changes. BIAB is not designed to be a music writing program..... but its pretty successful in this respect.

Thanks SteveJ,

I was able to research another forum and found this answer too.

"Just select an appropriate key signature and make sure you answer "NO" to the pop up question "OK to transpose WorkSheet". When you are done, adjust the key signature to whatever key you like the lead sheet to be displayed in."

I still have trouble with having chords display properly in BIAB. Specifically on key changes. I went to BIAB and got little help.

I have a 2-5-1 practice file that I want to use. It goes through the circle of 5ths. On several changes, BIAB will display, for example, D# when it should show Eb. It's rather annoying and I can't believe there's no way to make this display right. BIAB pretty much admitted there's nothing I can do. I checked other tunes I knew had 2-5-1 progressions and found the same thing.

Anyone run into this before?

Lenny - I don't think I understand the problem for my answer is pretty simple. If you are talking about the chord display screen just replace the D# by typing in Eb. Sounds will be unaffected.

If your talking about the manuscript - the accidentals probably represent in response to what you stated the original key as. If you change to a original key of flats the written notes will be represented as Eb... But this will cause similiar problems in other keys. Easiest way to what you want....- My advice is ignore the manuscript and practice by ear and in your head.... You can think in Eb and avoid the nuisance..... This is a faster route to where you want to be anyway and an excellent use of biab.

If I'm off track and this doesn't help please be more specific as to what you are doing in steps to make this 2-5-1 circle of fifths not display the way you want. I've had some success in manipulating this program - I'd be happy to offer suggestions.

Thanks, Steve J. I've tried to manually change it but it doesn't work. Like I said, PG Music Support even researched it and agreed that it was a flaw.

You're right. I need to just ignore it. It's just that I thought is was so strange that I couldn't fix it and I was determined to solve it. Oh well....Uncle!
