Does anyone know of software that shows the notes as they are played?

In the old early days of computers there were some programs that did this .. but I have not seen any lately....

midi programs will, Cakewalk even BIAB. In cakewalk you need to put the melody track into staff view, it even changes color as the note is hit.

I use MIDISOFT Studio 4. All you need to do is look up MIDI sequencers that mute tracks so you can switch off the track you are playing. :)
