:D Just dropped in to say Hi from New England. Originally from Memphis (Stax record days in the 60's)...been a New Englander going on 35 big ones. In Memphis, during H.S. & college, played sax (mostly Alto) with Charlie Rich, Bobbie Woods, Bobby Womack, The Emeralds,The Markeys (remember Last Night/a new jazz version is out now), Bordie Bell Group(college scene), Charlie Nichols Orchestra (high brow music). In Ct. played with Al Jarvis Agency bands, Tom Kelly Trio,Three's A Crowd, Brian McGann Group and a number of sit ins with local jazz groups. Presently doing some Rock and Roll Sax 50's - 70's music, with a great Doo Wop show group called the Fabulous Galaxies....Would like to hear from all you New Englanders out there.

Durham, CT here. Born & raised here; played alto & tenor through high school and college - Virginia Tech, with a 330-piece marching band - then hung it up for about ten years. Last year I joined a local R&B band called Fast Leslie & the Sin City Horns, playing baritone. We primarily play the bar scene, but last September we had the privelege to play for 10,000+ as the opening act for the Marshall Tucker Band at the Durham Fair. Now THAT was a trip!

MattC,

Just saw your reply about the 880 club. Ahhh now there was a place....to bad it's gone. Had a chance to sit in with the house band , I know the Drummer Richie Delorso.

Did you ever get to Lloyds in downtown Hartford? Saw many greats there Richie Cole, Hank Crawford, Benny Carter, Jimmy McGriff ...... also closed down.
