I have a Yamaha 675 Soprano sax. Is there a way to test out mouthpieces? The local music stores in central NY do not stock Soprano sax mouthpieces. (I am having a problem with the middle register E and F notes, and it has been suggested that a different mouthpiece may be the solution?)
Thanks, Howard

The wwbw has a mouthpiece selection plan. Let's you try up to three mouthpieces.

I second the WW&BW.
When you try new pieces use new reeds, used ones have adapted to the facing of the mouthpiece they were played on. Also try a variety of brands and strengths, it's amazing how some reeds sing on one piece and are dead on another. It's worth investing in some different reeds for this. Use a tuner.
The best test is in a real playing situation if possible but also where you practice where you are familiar with the acoustics.
