12M Conn Bari

Hey all-

I recently came upon the chance to buy one of these puppies, serial number L690xx. What do you guys know about the 12M's, especially around this period? I know they were great horns, but by this time were they no good anymore? I'm looking for an all-around good Bari for a semi-pro. Thanks a bunch- any info will be greatly appreciated.

i have had 2 12m,s from around this period.they are good serviceable baris while not exceptional .

My 12M bari is a bit older (around 1960 vintage) and I like it a lot, although I wish mine had come with its original neck! It came "neck-less" and I've had no luck finding a Conn 12M neck aftermarket, so I'm using a modified Amati neck which is less than optimum (to put it mildly....) Despite this handicap it's a rugged axe, has a big rich sound, and intonation is reasonably good.

i bought a 12m because of its ruggedness as i am playing bars again. intonation is better than my super 20 .
