How good are the superba II sopranos?
Are they the same as the SX90's?
I assume they would only be 1 piece.
Does serial # make a difference.
What is the aprox value if in good condition?
Thanks I have a possible lead on one. It would be a backup for my black SX90II.

I play a supera I sop and its great! I've never played a II, but from what I understand, there's not much if any difference.

I bought my Couf/Keilwerth Superba new, in 1975 and it has been played virtually everyday since-never had any unusal repairs or faults-had a complete overhaul about 2 years ago and it plays just as beautifully now as it did from the first. I recently sold my back-up soprano..it was a Selmer Serie II. I've owned most and played mostly every sop made and I've just never played or heard one that sounds better.

The Couf would be an excellent backup horn to the SX90. That would be my choice also if I find one at a decent price. The Superba II is identical to the I except it does not have rolled tone holes. The SX90 does not rolled tone holes either.

MitchP--you've got it backwards..the SX would be a good backup to the C/K sop

Thomas, you are probably right about that.

Correction to a post above - neither the Superba I or II sops have rolled tone holes. Again, I don't know what if any difference there are between the two.

It's interesting that Keilwerth does not use rolled tone holes on their sopranos, wonder why.
