paul desmond does a great version of it on his live in new york 75 album - which is one of the finest live jazz lp's in my opinion

Stanley Turrentine did a version on his Easy Walker record. He did it in C concert like Dexter. It's a nice key on tenor.

I agree, Stanley did do a great version of Wave! He & Dexter are most definitely two of my most admired players. They both had such full, warm, muscular but so very smooth & classy tone, and took their time saying what they needed to say...

Vincent Herring on "Jobim for Lovers". He's a fantastic alto player and that's one of 2 tunes I have a recording of where he's playing tenor. Talk about maintaining a consistent style/sound on various horns. Most guys sound different on different horns but you tell it's him right away even though it's on tenor.

I know you said alto/tenor but i can't help mentioning the superb James Moody recording on flute.
