What is a good alternative for a Link hard rubber piece on tenor. I like the sound of Brecker (nearness of you) and Redman (elastic). Both play on a Link hard rubber on these recordings. When i play on a HR Link the sound is stuffy and has no projection. I know that i am not Brecker or Redman but my sound can go this way !

I also tried to get the Brecker / Redman type of sound from a modern HR Link, and also failed miserably. At the end I found that I could get close to the Brecker sound by a rubber Bari .100 with Rico Royal 2.5 reeds. For the Redman type of sound, I could get close by using a metal Guardala Crescent with Rico Royal No.2 reeds. I remember that Jody Espina once mentioned in this Forum that he played on 2 of the vintage rubber Links that Brecker used to play on "Nearness of You". He said the 2 pieces were the brightest rubber Link he has ever played. I hope I did not mis-quote him.
