OK, I know you all have it too, 'fess up!
My latest fall: one pre-Leblanc Noblet Bb clarinet, even though I already have a nice 1940s Selmer clarinet and clarinet is a distant third on my depth chart. It was too cheap on eBay to pass up.

I fear I may fall victim to the alto flute in the not too distant future. I swore I never would, but I'm weakening.

 And I thought you were getting better!

Sadly there seems to be no cure, only remission. :( Tenor mpcs may be next too, I shouldn't be admitting this to the chief of the Mouthpiece Police. :o

7 tenors (another on the way from USAHorn). 3 baris. 1 alto. More mouthpieces than I could ever get into my mouth at once. No end in sight.

Thank god there's no cure. Thank god I have a "day job."

..... and a nineteenth century four-keyed fife in Ab (?) with no pads at all.

With apologies to Robert Palmer

Your lights are on, but you're not home
Your mind is not your own
Your heart sweats, your body shakes
Another bid is what it takes

You can't sleep, you can't eat
There's no doubt, you're in deep
Your throat is tight, you can't breathe
Another piece is all you need

Whoa, you like to think that you're immune to the stuff,
oh yeah

It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough,

you know you're
Gonna have to face it, you're addicted to stuff

You're in deep, sir. There's only one thing I can recommend that might help you out. Clearly, what you need most is ... a soprano. :) :P :D

I'm not much for buying horns, but mouthpieces...you should see my drawer (and safe!). I'll give you a peek...

I can see about 3 NY Meyer Alto mpcs, a Florida Tenor Link, a couple soloists, umm...a Beechler Bellite alto mpc...soooo many more. None are for sale though :)

I'm thinking about making a sax mouthpiece site w/pics of tons of mouthpieces and links to how they play, but that's not going to be for a while...I've got to find the time.

I am on the wagon, trying to not to buy. It is only a temporary set back, I can feel the stirrings of another bout.

Help....

Well, have you ever considered picking up a Conn F-Mezzo soprano? In one of the other threads, it was mentioned that Babbitt is now able to produce new f-mezzo mouthpieces, in several openings. That would be a nice addition to your collection of vintage Conns.

That is the kind of help you wanted, right?

I just found out that a major music store chain is going out of business. Right now they are giving 60% off of their entire stock. They carry Vandoren,Meyer,Otto Link, Dukoff, and Selmer mouthpieces. I'll have to find their phone number and email. I'll also find out what brand of saxes they carry. I know they do carry Selmer. As soon as I find the info i'll post it here. Joe.

Oh sheesh... just lost my composure to a great deal on a tenor I've been wanting. That results in an alto, sop, baritone (down to one these days, thank heavens), two tenors (one modern, one vintage), a clarinet and flute. You know, all the stuff I *should* have, except the elusive bass clarinet.

Oops. There it goes again.
