Does anyone out there have any experience on the Morgan baritone sax mouthpieces? I am very happy with my Morgan tenor piece (Excalibur 8EL); as well as sounding great, it is the most reed-friendly piece I have ever owned (every reed of every brand plays passably, and more of them are excellent).
Ralph Morgan has two bari pieces, a "Jazz" and a "Double Chamber" (DC). Any experience? comments?

I have a Morgan 7J that I use on my Mark VI bari. Great mouthpiece. Nice warm sound. I use Fibracell reeds with it. Although the recording quality is not great (I'm still experimenting with a newly acquired Tascam), you can hear the Morgan mpc on Stranger On The Shore and Misty soundclips on my website <www.richardwade.net>

I have a 7J here if you want one. Drop me a line if you're interested.

I play a Morgan 8J on an Aristocrat. It works very well. I am new to bari and have never tried any other pro bari pcs but this one was available locally and since I play a Morgan on tenor (7EL) it was an easy choice.
I did try a few rico graftonites which several players have told me are excellent for bari. The difference was night and day. Probably not much of a comparison I know, but I do know a good mpc and this is one.
The store had a 7 and an 8. The 7 was good but the 8 really opened up the sound. I'm using rico royal 3 1/2 reeds. I think I might need a 4 though. I'm trying to get the embouchure feel fairly close to tenor, and it is but still a little too soft. Since you already play a Morgan, I think you will like the bari pcs. It may not be the most powerful on the planet, but I get a good sound on it. I've also been getting a lot of compliments on my bari sound at gigs. You will probably want an 8 or 9 considering you play an 8 on tenor. HONK!

Has anyone played one of the Morgan "double-chamber" bari pieces?
