A member on saxophoneforumforum.com said that the Vandoren Jumbo Java was jazzier than any metal piece. Can anyone confrim this?

By jazzier, I mean that it is brighter and louder than any metal piece.

it's the design that matters most. the material may (and you can argue this until your run out of breath) have some impact on the sound, but it's the design. A high baffle piece ether in HR or Metal will be brighter than one with a low baffle, no matter what the material.(all other things being consistent)
Play one, if you like it and it works for you, great, if not, so be it.

I play a Jumbo Java T75 on tenor and yeah it's plenty bright. it also tho has a nice center to the tone that I really like. Sometimes if it's a LOUD gig I'll use a plasticover reed and it rips with one of those for sure!
