I don't think it really matters just as long as you sound GOOD. If you don't sound good, then it doesn't matter what finish, what horn, what mpc, what anything it is right?

This of course is the kind of response which looks informative, but isn't.
Here's another like it: depending upon with whom you speak, you'll get a response that the Serie II is (a) dark (b) bright; (c) thin; (d) pure in tone; (e) not as good as an ______(put in the name of my favorite make of horn, vintage or modern, usually, Mark VI, or whatever I've been playing for 125 years); and that the silver will (a) do nothing; (b) darken the tone; (c) brighten the tone; (d) enliven the tone; (e) add resistance to the horn.
In short: sorry, Joao, you'll just have to try out the horn and compare it with others, then tell the rest of us what you think.

I think you will find that silver makes the horn brighter not darker. I use mark VII alto and tenor in silver plate most of the time and find them nice and live. The alto in particular is a good lead horn. The series II like the mark VII is a heavier horn than those either side so silver plate may brighten the sound. I have played numerous silver series II and have found them to be one of the nicest Selmers. They are a bitch to keep clean though.
