We have been buying a Babbit plastic blank for a while now and I have had my mouthpiece guy (who learned most of what he knows from Ralph Morgan) refacing them to have the same facing as either a Selmer C* or as his older New York Meyer 5.

They worked great but I had to pay him to do them and he makes more money by fixing horns, not refacing student mouthpieces.

So while at the NAMM show this year, we conversed with Babbit about having them make Cams for both of these mouthpieces and having them produce them exactly like this. Well, 4 months later and we have production versions of these mouthpieces.

They are $29 each in either facing. They are marked "Kessler & Sons Music, Las Vegas, Nevada" and either with a C* or a NY to differentiate.

Right now, I have them in the plastic version however, I have 13 of each facing coming in a 50% hard rubber 50% plastic mix for $39 (Sax on the web price only).

I had a local player play the NY plastic mouthpiece and he compared it up against a Morgan Excalibur 8E and said he preferred the NY Kessler saying it was edgier and thats what he wanted. He is going to come in once I have the 50/50 versions and try the NY in that as well.

Both versions are a Striaght Wall mouthpiece.

I am not trying to claim that they are the best mouthpiece in the world or anything like that, my goal with these is to produce a great playing Student mouthpiece that is affordable.

Anyone interested, please call me Toll Free at 1-888-385-4559 Mon-Sat 9:30-6:00 Pacific Time (US Only) or e-mail me at music@kesslermusic.com.

If anyone wants to try one, I will pay the US Postal Service fees so that if you return it, you wont be out that money.
