Hello,
Has anybody tried the new Bari WT II mouthpieces (alto or tenor)? They're a pretty good price from WWBW, and the descrition made me curious.
Thanks.

I emailed WT about the interior and their response was that they have straight side walls. I was curious also.

Hasn't anybody tried these? If so, do they really sound like a vintage Link?

I had an original WT New York Link for tenor. It was in pristine condition but unfortunately was much of a player. I sold it and now play an early Florida STM that was refaced by Ralph Morgan that plays very well. Even though both mouthpieces were roughly the same tip openings (6, 6*), the difference between how they play is huge. From my very limited personal experience, the WT hype exceeds its performance. Bob Ackerman makes Florida Link copies incidentally.

That should read: ...... but unfortunately wasn't much of a player.

I think this person should post in the alto/tenor mouthpiece forum, not the Bari SAX forum. LOL

I posted back before the different mouthpiece subdivisions were made. When they sorted the posts, this one was posted in the Baritone mpc category.

I am currently in high school and playing alto, tenor, and bari. One of my friends in my section purchased the mouthpiece for his tenor. The mouthpiece doesnt play well on Vandorens. I played it on a Rico 2 1/2 and it played very VERY easily. Very nice with the right reed. Bright a tad bit and fun because you get the low notes with lots of power and the high notes were fairly bright and easy to get out. But I guess it would be easy for me to get the higher notes out since I play alto mainly. Overall the mouthpiece is good in my opinion.
