Has anyone heard of a right hand horizontal thumb rest extension? My son thinks if he could rest his thumb slightly more to the right, that he'd have an easier time reaching some of the lower keys? Thanks for the info.

I've been trying to think of a way to alter the thumbhook on my SX90R tenor to allow me better reach of the low C pinky key. The stock JK hook doesn't really adjust much.

Morry............. thats the exact situation I'm referring to. In my case it's for an SX90R alto. I did meet a JK rep at a Horn show awhile back and he stated that JK makes a thumbrest that extends further to the right than the stock thumbrest. When I call my local JK dealer to ask about it though, I might as well be talking Chinese. I'm wondering if there is anyone making a more universal model of this kind of thumbrest or if anyone knows how to get ahold of JK parts directly.

Tim Glesman at Sax Alley makes the Ultimate Thumb Hook, sounds like what you are looking for.

here's a link, no pix though

Tim's hooks are the "Selmer style", and I'm not sure that they attach the same. Maybe I'll shoot him an email and ask.

Yeah, I didn't go that far, but Tim deals in JK's so he would be the one to ask.

Tim said his wouldn't work on a JK. I emailed Stephan to get him to check with the Keilwerth folks directly.

Morry, please post what you discover. I'd be very interested in finding out what they have.

I have a friend who is a machinist. I may see what he can come up with.
