I just heard someone play an LA Sax for the first time. I must admit that I have had a prejudice against this brand for various reasons. However, listening to that alto I was really impressed.
I see brand new LA-750 instruments going as low as $800. Amazing!!!
How do these saxophones hold up compared to Antigua Winds, for example?
Can they be rebuilt at least a few of times before they are bent out of shape too much?
Thanks

PM Cashsax...he just bought one and plays a lot. Consistency between instruments may come into play, though - just a thought.

I'm playing the doors off my LA 850 Tenor every nite for a over month now. The horn has stayed in perfect adjustment and is enjoyable to play. The tone is great, no intonation issues. The finish and construction isn't bad for cheaper horn. Just handle it carefully and it should last for a long time ;)

CashSax,
I just bought an LA-750 Black Alto for $595 plus shipping from the same guy on ebay you got your green tenor from.
Thanks!

Just got my curved Sop and Alto . The Sop is great..no selmer but a good rich and full tone and dead on scale.I'll try the Alto on the gig tonight.

Cash, how did the alto do on your gig?
Still want to know if you are going to have it painted green to match your tenor!!

Alto is a great horn too..Plenty of tone, smooth ,very quiet action. Hi G comes in handy as an alternate fingering. And no, I won't paint it green..my Alligator Tenor is strictly one of a kind..
