I've got a Borgani curved soprano with the bright 24k finish for sale. I bought the horn new in late 2002 and it's serial number is 0127. I got a good price when I originally bought the horn because one of the low B/Bb key guard posts was not attached, the other two are fine and the guard protects the the keys without any trouble. It looks like there was a manufacturing defect, aka a "cold" solder joint on the post - but no signs of any trauma whatsoever. I'm sure Roberto could supply a new post and you could have your tech attach it without any trouble.
Since buying the horn I've logged maybe ten hours of playing time on it. I rarely have occasion to play soprano so I'm offering this horn for sale. The pads are factory original and have lots of life left in them. With the exception of the guard post the horn is in pristine condition. Before I get swamped with questions asking if this is one of the "Jubilee" horns let me say - I'm not sure, Borgani's serial number history appears to be non-existent and my receipt doesn't specify. The logo on the horn is the same as the current "Jubilee" model. It looks the same (to my eye) as the current production horns and it's serial number is very close to Bob Berg's 0152 soprano http://bobberg.com/equipment.html .
I've played a couple of the 70's Borgani sopranos that you've heard horror stories about - this is an entirely different animal. The horn plays and sounds great, sort of like a miniature tenor. I'm sure the horn would benefit from one of Roberto's or Randy's custom setups but it really plays fine as is. My asking price is $1750 and ships from SLC, Utah. Like I said, I got a good price when I bought the horn, not the current retail $4800! If you've wanted to have one of the newer production Borgani sopranos but couldn't afford it, here's your chance! Contact me at: amleish@msn.com . If you're serious about buying and want to see photos or make me an offer let me know. Thanks!
