I purchased an Antigua 586 lacquer with two necks back in March of this year from Kessler Music. I have realized that I am just not a soprano player. It is a great horn, but I am finding that I just don't enjoy playing the soprano all that much. I find that I gravitate to the clarinet and the tenor instead, what with my limited practice time.
The Antigua is in perfect shape, it has less than 10 hours of playing time on it total. Absolutely no dents, scratches or anything. It would come with the case, all accessories, a Morgan Pro Tone mouthpiece, and the Runyon Quantum Metal 7 I bought for it.
If you are interested in purchasing; make me an offer. I would take $825 for it, including the Quantum and the Morgan. Shipping on you to Continental USA from Philly area. I would throw in a SAXRAX sop peg, and what's left of a box of ZZ Vandorens with it. New, they sell for the same, without the extras.
I also have a FANTASTIC Buescher Big B Silver Plate Tenor that is not seeing much playing time since I got my Series III. Tim Price describes this horn as awesome. The silver is new, with gold wash bell, and the engraving is still very sharp and looks tremendous. Gayle at Vintage Sax did the overhaul just over one year ago. It plays flawlessly. The sound is very comparable to the Series III, but I find that I really prefer the modern keywork on the III, and have trouble going back to the vintage.
I would consider trading it and the Antigua sop for another Series III Tenor, possibly silver, Ref 54 Tenor in antique finish, or maybe even a Mark VI, or Buescher THandC. If you want to purchase the Buescher Tenor, my asking price would be $2750. Yes, it is that good, ask Tim. Protec Contoured Case included, shipping on you to continental USA from Philadelphia, PA area.
If you are near Philly, we could meet to try them out. Make me an offer on either, I may just take it!
Thanks for your consideration. I want them to go to a good home. :)
