I know everyone is sick of talking about these things.... but bear with me. I just got off the phone with WWBW and the sales person I was talking with just raved about the SKB 450. He says its better made than the cheaper SKB, has better padding and foam (not as hard), offers excellent protection for day to day use......(not air travel).......and for the money is an absolutely great buy. Has anyone used one of these, and would they recommend it for the money..........about $110. bucks. Thanks.

I used to have one and the interior is hard like other SKB cases. No soft padding.

I've got my Prestini Classic in a SKB450, and I think it's great. Snug fit, *some* room for accessories (3 MPCs, 6-8 reeds, and neckstrap inside case), no latch problems like on the -140 and -150 cases.
I've had zero problems with it or my horn in the 8 or so months I've had it, although I'm fairly careful with my horn, and just use it as an around-town case. YMMV.
One thing to note, not every dealer will sell them with the shoulder strap. I think most will charge you an extra $5 for it.
It's a good case. I put my VI in it everyday and take it to work. I do need a piece of foam at the front of the bell to take up some space but other than that it fits fine. The other case that is good is the pro-pac.

I have two of them and I like them very much. Good case for the money. No real padding inside and I miss not having a area for accessories but there are cut outs for your neck and strap.

Hard polystyrene inners break off key guards is the case is dropped use cases with softer high density foam inners, mind you as a repair person i love the work i get when people keep ther horns in these and gig bags.
