A brief report on the Kessler Custom Tenor that I recently purchased for my son's college graduation gift. It has the antique finish and came with the Kessler Custom 50OL7 mouthpiece and a Java 2.5 reed.
I have not played the sax myself, but have listened to my son play it for a couple of hours. He is very satisfied with the sax, and he sounds great on it. The tone is very rich and smooth. It is darker than my YTS-62. I have not owned enough tenors to say that is sounds like this or that model, but this sax has a nice tone that is consistent throughout the range.
If I get a chance to play the sax I will report on my own experiences. Based on this instrument, however, I will have no hesitation to recommend that buyers seriously consider the Kessler Custom line. If the other saxes in the line are anything like the tenor, they represent excellent values on very, very good instruments.
