pad gaurds by lavoz...good or bad?

i have a pad gaurd but somewhere i heard that they were acctaully bad for the horn instead of good for it. is this true?

The laVoz pad guards shed fiber like crazy(to prove this, all you have to do is to rub your hand over the fluff and you'll see fiber floating off)...It gets onto the pads and can cause leaks...

The new HW's, However, are made of Microfiber (as well as the Hollywood Winds version from Rheuben Allen), which doesn't shed and rapidly wicks moisture away from the source..If you choose to use a pad guard, Those made of Microfiber are the way to go.
