This horn was overhauled a little over a year ago by Tomoji Hirakata, one of the best repairmen in the world (his clients include Frank Wess, Lew Tabackin, and Ricardo Morales). It feels and plays better than any Chu that I have ever played and has not been played much since the overhaul because I am mainly a tenor player. I picked this horn out from about ten of them at Bob Ackerman's about seven years ago. It has an outstanding warmth and eveness and versatility. I have used it on a number of Broadway shows, lead alto gigs, and small group gigs and recordings.
Has the original Microtuner neck and a new ProTec-like case. The horn is located in NYC.
