hate the ultimate darkness, need new sound

What mouth piece and reed would give me the Richard Elliot or Michael Brecker sound? I'm going for high resistance and bright.....

you see I have a Tone King with rico on a black nickle cannonball, and it's the ultimate dark sound....I mean it's so dark that it's not even projecting out of the horn......and I hate that!!!

so.....please help.

Try a mouthpiece with a high baffle, or just put a temporary baffle made out of putty in your current setup.
