How do you write rhythm guitar parts with Sibelius ie chord names above stave rhythm pattern on stave

I've struggled with this. If you want accurate playback, you need to input the notes. Then use the "Add Chord Symbols" plug-in to create the chord symbols.

If you just want slash notation, input four quarter notes on the middle line (B), then use the properties-notes menu to change the notehead to option #4. Add the chord symbol using Create Text-Chord Symbol. Then use the mixer to mute that stave, otherwise it will play the single note that you have created.

Another trick is to create 2 guitar parts, one for playback, and one with slash notation, and then hide the playback stave.
