Played a S990?

Has anyone ever played the S990? How does it compare to the S991? How much better (if any) is the selmer series II?

Also, does anyone know the name of the professional model Yana soprano made in '93? Thanks

The S991 is the newer top model.

Popular opinion in this board seems to be that the Yani top line sopranos are superior to the Selmer Series II, even the series III in many's opinion.

I have a S991 on its way to me from USAHorn, but am new to soprano so can't really comment. After much reading and research, I decided on the Yani. Would have liked a 992 (bronze model), but was just that bit too expensive

I bought a Yani Tenor in '94, the top of line then was the 990 - so I'd say this was probably the case in '93? anyone?
