I'm looking for a new tenor mouthpiece with a large chamber and medium-medium high baffle. Something similar to a Guardala Marsalis or Brecker or a Barone Mainstream.

What other MPC's have a large chamber and medium-medium high baffle?

Ummm . . . yeah . . . my post is 5 1/2 years old. How do you find these threads?

BTW Glen, I had an RPC 115B. It had a good sound but it didn't feel comfortable so I sold it (to BigHunk I believe).

I tried a 115B sometime back and it wasn't my cup of tea either.

Oh, I felt sorry that nobody ever responded to your post.

So, what tenor piece HAVE you settled on?

I've got a pair of Jody Jazz pieces and use the DVNY for traditional jazz, big band, and musical work and the DV for funk, rock, and fusion/contemporary jazz stuff.

I've settled on Jody's pieces for tenor too.

I had played the ESP for a couple of years and then it got kicked into backup mode after using his HR* model.

His stuff is nice!

I've enjoyed my Kali a great deal. You may really like the AMMA too. However, not a "Large Chamber" piece that I know of, but, I played a Focustone today and that piece is amazingly well designed and crafted. Still has a lot of the wamrth of a link but the focus and projection of a higher baffled piece.

Charlie A' BBQ has a bigger chamber than an MBII. Richer voice with a good edge. My fav so far. Reed friendly and at $155 delivered, is a steal in my book.

You could also try the Barone Vintage, the SR TEchnologies Europa, and the Ponzol Vintage 105. All of these are similar to the type of mouthpiece you are interested in. I have one of each and they are all great players.

No, it just shows they rarely look at the date!

As for me, I rarely miss an appropriate marketing opportunity.

So why not get one of the pieces you've listed? You should also consider one of the new Hollywoods I'll be coming out with for $325. They do everything a medium high baffle piece does with the warmth of a large chamber. Mike Brecker was actually using one the last couple of years he was able to play. He recorded on it on a CD of Kevin Mahogany's called "My Romance". Phil
