Just wanted to see what everyone here thought about them. I have an old Bundy II tenor that's had tough times. I'm debating if it would be worth getting repaired. (ex: new pads, adjusted, etc.) Do you think its worth it?

It's OK for the first couple years, and for marching band. They can take a thrashing. But they're not worth much more than the price of an overhaul.

From your description of having seen tough times, I'm afraid I'd have to agree with DirkW. By the time you sink the cost of an overhaul into it, you'd be out $500-600 and have perhaps a beat up beginner's tenor that played well for a Bundy II. Or, you could put it on ebay and get maybe $200-300 for it (or who knows how much - strange things do happen). Take the $900 differential and get you something that will achieve far more than the Bundy II will ever achieve.

Thanks for replies. And your right, its not worth it. For kicks, I sandblaster the horn, and then painted it black using Automotive paint. Then I put the keys back on and had my wife etch a simliar design as the Guardala's, and put Custon Bundy II.. He actually looks, very good, but will never play. Good for a wall hanging. :)
