I am new to this forum. I am interested in buying Keilwerth SX90R Black nickel or Yanagisawa T-9937 tenors; however, I can't decide which one to buy. Since I am in college, I can't exactly go test all the sax I want to buy.

I've heard very good things about these and I am wondering what you guys think I should buy. I've also heard JK take more maintanence, has sticky pads and etc... where as Yanagisawa is more reliable, but doesn't have dark sound like JK.
--Could you list some Pros and Cons of each sax?
--What are the benefits of having solid Silver body as apposed to JK's construction?
--Also, which sax has darker, fuller sound?

Lastly, does anyone know where I can find some reliable reviews on these two sax? Thanks alot.

Hey

I don't own any Yagasawiana (or something like that haha) but i do own 2 Keilwerth saxs (alto and tenor both SX90R). I have the black nickel plating on each of them and it produces a rich dark sound that is absolutely sweet. I have really huge hands and it makes the alto alot easier to play because its more spaced out then a selmer SA for example. Thats the one reason why i invested in buying these saxophones, due to the excellent spacing, tone quality, appearance (the ladies love the cool black saxes ;-)). They are phenomenol instruments and i can't say i have one complaint yet.

In a nutshell

Pros
Spacing
Deep dark tone *black nickel plating*

Cons
i can't think of any but i guess over time they will pop up slowly

Hope it works, feel free to ask more questions.
