I got one of these from my band director 4 years ago. I always thought it was an otto link, but I just looked at it last night :p. I can't find anything on this mouthpiece on google, so maybe you guys know something about it.
I don't really care for it too much, so I'm guessing I could have it reworked to have it play better to me.

Anyone?
Here's a faint pic of it. I'd like to know if it's junk or has potential if sent to a refacer. I don't care for the way it plays at the moment compared to my Morgan 6m, but I know that can be changed by sending it to mojo or another good refacer.

Is that it on the right?
If I remember correctly ER owned, or was the son of the owner of JJ Babbit, which makes Links, etc I have seen some with his name on it that look very Berg Larsen like.
Probably just took parts of runs of blanks and put his name on em.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I could have posted a better pic of it, can't really see it too well. When I was give this piece about 5 years ago, the person who gave it to me told me it was a otto link, but when I finally took it out to check it out, a few months ago, I found that to not be the case.

it also looks like it could be made from the same blank that they used for Guy Hawkins, Wolfe Tayne, Meyer metals...

Is that a good thing? Do you think it'd be worth it to send it off to get some work done on it or just put that money towards a new piece?

it all depends, do you like the basic sound it gives you? how it feels in your mouth? is there something inthe sound you don't like, or is there something you cant added? if it is the same as a Guy Hawkins blank, the sidewalls are very thin, not much anyone can do there, the baffle could be taken down some, the tip and rails perfected...but it comes down to do you like the basic sound it gives you, if the answer is yes, then it might be worth it to have it "tweaked", if the answer is no, then best to move on.

Here are some better pics of it. It could sure use a cleaning. Almost scared to play it. Will soaking it in vinegar or something clean up the metal?

That actually looks pretty fun to play. Looks a lot like my teacher's meyer. Almost exactly like it, actually. Does it play pretty bright?
