Man, I wish they made a curved model...I dig those twisty sopranos :-)

I play the SX90 II and it is one of the finest there is...I think you'll be happy...

Great sounding sopranos, but I had some trouble making the palm key notes speak easily (I'm not really a soprano player, though). If you do get one, get it from Stephan and have him remove the little thingy from the neck(s). That opens the horn up and lets the real JK sound come pouring forth.

Why the heck is that in there anyway?

Keilwerths are generally harder to pop the palm key notes since the bore is larger, but it's nothing that can't be accomplished with practice of course.

I'm noticing the same issue with my tenor, and probably with the alto that's on the way. It's funny though, all of the notes above G2 are much clearer and more free blowing, giving them a sound more like those below G2. However, the palm keys above D3 are tougher to pop. Practice, practice, practice, I guess.

I love my SX90II but I went through trying 3 SX90's that were all stuffier in the upper end than ty\his horn.
My experience (and other people on SOTW led me to try it) was that the SX90II has an easier upper end but many people have great SX90's.
That said it is still harder to get the palm keys than other sopranos. The trade off is a deep rich sound with a full bottom end.

I found JK pro sops' intonation to be comparable to Yanagisawa's, and way superior to both Yamaha's & Selmer's. In respect to the tone timbre, JKs were darker/fuller than all the other big 3 pro models.

When you already a keilwerth player, and you want a darker sop tone, than the sx90 is the right choice for you.
I play a sx90r tenor and the sx90 II soprano. Not to much differences to get the keys and intonation.
