A pre-emptive strike.

If you do not like the colors on this Forum, I encourage you to find a vBulletin 3.07 style you like and then post the following as a poll, either here or in the Suggestion Box:

"I found a vBulletin style I really like. It's at [website]. Do you like it? Yes/No. If there is a cost associated with the style. I will pay for it."

(There are bunches of free styles, btb, but a lot of the really nice looking ones cost some bucks.)

Each new style requires a degree of tweaking to work with this Forum, so I don't want to install 9,200 different styles -- only those few that can get at least, say, 25 "yes" votes.

Maybe it's just me, but anyone who has enough time to be complaining about the colours/fonts etc provided on a free bbs should consider a serious re-evaluation of their priorities.

You should been here when we opened the first phpBB forum.

I also remember complaints even on the eesites forum!

Anyhow, I do accept that some people want/need some high contrast theme or some such and I will install it, but I want people to get together and have several agree on one or another theme.

I like the colors better than the old board....especially the additional contrast on the main menu. since it was originally compacted it was a little more challenge than the old old forum format. With the darker background on the main page I find it easier. To me a font is a font unless its wingdings or something (wouldnt that be something!) Keep up the good work.

I have to admit that I hated the new board at first glance. I'm an old mainframe kind of guy and I like simple stuff. The new forum had too much of a cartoon look to me. However, upon careful reflection and repeated use, I like the whole thing just fine. It kind of goes with the whole Microsoft move to soft colors.
