I just bought a new mouthpiece and i am using a Student Adition Yamaha. The mouth piece that i purchased seems to be harder to the horn in tune with. The mouthpiece is fater ( rounder maybe even longer).
I have had the mouthpiece now for 3 months but i still haft to struggle to keep my horn in tune and keep a good sound.
Is it because the mouthpiece is bigger ?

What kind of mouthpiece do you have?
Maybe you haven't found the sweet tuning spot on the neck cork yet. Yamahas will play in tune with any mouthpiece. Every mouthpiece is different and you can't put every mouthpiece on the same place on the cork and expect it to tune properly. 8)

Invest in a proofreader while you are at it.........
It could be that the new mouthpiece is not right for you. If your old mpc plays better, go back to it. A bigger mpc is not necessarily a better mpc. If you are struggling with it even after 3 months, it doesn't look good.
