I'm curious if anyone can give me their opinion on the sound quality of a Borg tenor in the Sterling Silver finish. In particular compared to the pearlised. Or any other input you might want to share.
Thanks

Hi,
I played virtually the full range of Borgani Jubilee Tenors last weekend and both me and my wife agreed, they all sounded different...
I'm not convinced that this was down to the finish or actual differences in the horns themselves due to manufacturing tolerances etc....
I think with the Borgani's you need to play the actual horn you are going to buy and not try and compare the finishes to be sure...

Wow Alistair, you're the first person to reply to that post in more than a year!
In the mean time I bought the Sterling tenor, after playing it for a few months I realized I liked my mark VI more, so I put it up for sale and sold it ....Yesterday! :toothy7:
... should have gone with the silver pearl...
I sold mine too - after three years or so.

I've had my Borgani sterling silver tenor for 3 years now (new horn) and it sounds amazing! I replaced the neck with another borgani neck that they made for me and I'm very happy. I tried all the different finishes and the sterling silver was a LOT nicer than all the rest. I bought a silver alto as well.
The only complaint I might have is that low Bb is louder than the rest of the horn and it doesn't play as easily. When I try to jump down to Bb I very often miss it (doesn't happen to me on my other tenor).

Eating my words now... I bought the "sterling silver" finish model - much more recent than the earlier silver pearl (serial number 4xx) and everything is wonderful. My gosh, they have really been responsive to making changes in these horns. It is amazing to see, play, and appreciate the evolution of the Jubilee tenors.
Cheers, Borgani!
