The Fever, the tune not some disease ;-)
I'm looking for a midi, no not the Garth Brooks tune, I think the Real McCoys did it back in the 60's( I used to have a 45, remember them?)
King Curtis did a nice version of it on Night Train( the newer compliation CD originall on Old Gold I think)
Would love to find the midi, or even the chords. I've done the usual midi searches and have come up empty.
TIA

It was the McCoys. The Real McCoys was a 60's TV show featuring Walter Brennan. Peggy Lee had very sexy version of Fever.

You're not talking about SARS are you, Bill?
The McCoys are probably better known for the 60's rock classic, Hang On Sloopy, which was probably my first public R&R performance, a sax/guitar duet with my buddy Mike Dudzik in the school cafeteria for 6th grade talent show.

From what I remember, it follows the normal version of Fever but with a strong rock beat rather than a soft swing. Our local oldies station plays it regularly so it can most likely be found in a record store under the Rock category and on compilation cds listed as "various artists". The staff will be of no help so you will have to slog through the pile of cds, reading the playlist on the back. It may help if there is a title such as "Hits of 1960".
The best places to find tons of compilation cds is at Wal-Mart or K-Mart.

Thanks, will do.
I haven't seen that 45 in years, but I remember the yellow and white label and I think it had a picture of a revolver on it.. testing my memory, brings back memories of my parents basement (good memories!) old lps crappy turntables, an Lp that jumps out of the fog is from WIBG..... whew!
The late Richard Crenna too! or was that another show? starting to show my age, and my age is starting to show..
Thanks!!! been listening to it a lot lately, have to work on it.

Fever was originally recorded by Willie John on King Records! It features a background of bass, drums, two saxes and guitar. The bass and saxes played a line throughout the entire piece in unison (except for the last three notes of each verse) and the guitar did little more than play a single chord (#9?) between each verse.
This is a true R&B classic which Peggy Lee bleached mercilessly, tossed out the saxes, and added words that make Wooly Bully seem profound!
Alvin "Shine" Robinson had a killer version produced by Leiber and Stoller in the sixties which is John's only serious competition, in my opinion.
