I have returned to the saxophone after a 40+ year hiatus. I've been playing for nearly two years, but feel that I need the direction and inspiration of a good teacher. Anybody know of one? I'd really 'preciate your help.
Thanks,
Dave

If you get no responses, check with local university music directors or local music stores. Shop around and check on their reps by talking to some paying customers. Good luck finding a great teacher.

Still looking for an instructor? I'm studying with a guy in Scottsdale who I think is excellent. His orientation is classical rather than jazz. I know he's used to teaching adult "re-starters" because I'm one of them. If interested, e-mail me at jpf-mrt@cox.net.

Try asking Hugh Lovelady of Mesa Community College....a great player and teacher. Plays regularly and was in a house band in Las Vegas back when they had such things. Hope he will do it, because he is a great teacher.

I would recommend my sax teacher, Ms. Handelsman, of Glendale Community College. Shes very smart and I think she lives on that side of town.
