Hello all,

Looking to update my flute, wondering if anyone has opinions of the Allegro flutes. This is the 471, not the 371 so I believe it is solid silver not plated. Also has the split e and offset keys. I am looking for something that will help me out as much as possible! I have tried the Sonare flutes as well--particularly the 5000 model (plated body) but it didn't seem to have as much oomph in the low register but played very well up high. The yamaha seems to have a better focus for me, but has similar resistance in the higher register to my Emerson ELD with AMerican headjoint, although it is a more vibrant projecting tone. Anyhow, any comments?

That might be a good idea--there's nothing wrong with them, but it may or may not be worth your money to get something another level up.

What flute do you currently play? How long have you played flute and how much do you practice? Assuming this is intended to be a long-term purchase, at what level do you want to play?
