It was only 50 dollars and it has alot more features than my current recording program (goldwav). Very confusing though just starting out and I get an error message when I try to burn from a track? Anybody else use this?? K

I have used Powertracks pro since version 3.0. Its a great sequencer that is gear more toward the General Midi specification. It does a great job and has some nice plugings, the reverb plugin rocks.

Keith,

not sure what kind of error message you are getting, and I have never used that particular program, but something struck me... are you converting the midi to wav before you try to burn to CD?

I use cakewalk, and I have to record the midi backing as a stereo track before outputting the entire sequence as a wav file.

I also believe you can get it from zzsounds.com for about $27 bucks. Not sure if that is the latest version though.

I can't beg for help yet because I just started to use the program. What I haven't figured out to do yet is save an audio recording (me) to a wav or Mp3 file. I'll PM Mad and ask him some questions. K

I have PowerTracks 7. It is a virtual 48 track recording desk, and is very easy to use. It has a great tutorial on one of the CD's, and I suggest you go through that first.

When I first got it I only had access to 32 tracks, but when I added memory, going from 256 to 384 mb, I had use of all 48 tracks.

Power Tracks is EXCELLENT.

You can drop a midi file in, and it will open each midi track in a separaate track in Power Tracks.

You can play along with the MIDI, and as you replace each MIDI track with your recorded tracks, you can mute the MIDI tracks. Then you can pan and balance each track.

All in all, it is a very nice program.

I've gotten it working better. Up to being able to record but needing to do the fine adjustments to get a good recording. Thanks to Dean for all his help.K

Keith-

Anytime I can be of help, don't hesitate to ask. All of the recordings you have heard of Adam were done in Powertracks version 9. If I can answer any questions involving recording or post processing, don't hesitate to ask. I have been using PTW since version 1. Not a self-proclaimed expert but I have experienced my share of "Screw-ups" so if I can help make life easier, let me know.

Here's a link to PG musics FAQ on PT 9. This section covers getting the audio to a format for CD. It had enough detail to help me.

I have Power Tracks and use it for Midi, but use Adobe Audition for recording. The biggest thing I like it for is opening up already existing Midi files, and pulling out the different parts. Every other program I had, brought the midi parts up all on one track, but like mentioned earlier, PT brings each part up on it's own track which makes it very convenient for a lot of things. The problem with it regarding Midi, is that it is limited to your standard time signatures like 3/4 and 4/4. I can't tell you anything about traditional recording, because I have never used it for that.
