On Lessons

Hello everybody,

Im an English teacher in Japan right now, and its quite difficult (currently impossible) for me to take any saxophone lessons. For a few reasons.

I have absolutely no experience. I was wondering if saxophone is one of those instruments one needs a teacher for.

So I guess my question is. Can saxophone be self taught?

Sax can partially be self taught, but you would want to take a few lessons at first, to make sure you don't develop bad habits that are hard to break mostly. I suggest you contact Randall (Poster on this board living in Japan) and he will probably be able to point you where to go in Japan.
