I mean Gomer SHAZZAM!
Zowie! BIF! KerPow!
Holy jumpin' catfish Batman!!!
It is really somethin' else!
I have played the darned thing nearly 3 hours and I am not tired yet!
First, I am not a soprano player mainly, and I have always had trouble with the upper register (palm keys) on soprano. (I have tried all the fixes, tongue raising, etc...)
The very first time I tried the upper register I played all the way to high G and the notes were clear and in tune!
I have never gotten a clear or consistent high G on a soprano with the high G key before!
There appear to be no dodgy notes and the horn plays very well in tune. It has a clear, resonant, rich sound and I quite like hearing the sound coming back at me. It does remind me of the Yani curved in some respects, but it has a richer sound to my ears.
Conclusion:
TRY ONE! :toothy7: :toothy8: :toothy10: :occasion: :notworth:

Randall: Have you figured out how to set the thing down when you pick up another horn (other than putting it back in the case or laying it on the floor)? DAVE

Myatt's in the UK has a great little stand for curved sopranos. I held on to mine after I sold my curvy, and it looks like I may be needing it again. :-)

Morry (and Randall): Yes, I have a Myatt stand for my curvy.
I mis-read Randall's post, thinking he'd acquired one of those tipped-bell Arcs. Upon re-reading, I see where it was a curvy. Still, one needs a stand for such a beast - and Myatt's is a good one. I also rigged a regular Hamilton folding stand to fit a curved soprano, but that put the horn a little too high in the air for comfort. DAVE

If the Saxrax folks want to be innovative, they should try to come up with a strudy stand for those saxellos.
