on my desktop comp, ive got a SB live platinum 5.1 with live drive that has optical in, i use this all the time to connect my pc to my digital studio equipment.

im thinkinng of buying a laptop to get a more transportable setup, and i need something with optical in like the sb libe has.


if anyone knows of a laptop that comes with this or an optino or card or anuything, let me know, even if its a usb product i can just plug.

There are various PCMCIA card adapter sound cards with digital input and output. Check out these things at your local Computer Music shop. They usually aren't cheap though.
