I priced a Raven Bari about 2 weeks ago, will probably order it in the next few months. Any pictures you could email would be great!!! btw.. I am playing a Mexi Conn low Bb Bari now... looking forward to playing the raven. Email is jleslielloyd@hotmail.com THANKS!!

Joe, if you use the formal reply method, using the "Reply" button, you can attach an image (among other forms of documents) by clicking on the Paperclip button.

Here are a couple pics of the Raven tenor (Stone Series) that I took a while back for a customer:

Man, I hate those goofy colored stones. Can the horn be had with normal pearls, or at least stones that complement the horn color (black maybe)?

Agreed. Then again, I only like plain lacquer finishes and white pearls.

Normally I would agree with you morry but I think that those stones on the raven look pretty good, kinda of a dark bluish greenish blackish color. what kind are those anyways?

I just play tested a Raven bari (review on another thread), and the stones were black/gray and looked GREAT! Is it possible that the stones in the pics above just looke kinda greenish in the photos?

The stones in that tenor I posted are "Green Bog". I actually think they look pretty cool, but of course Cannonball lets us order them with any stones we want.
DukeCity, I think you're talking about the Picasso Jasper Dark. I agree with you that those look pretty sick. I personally own a BS tenor with those stones and I love the way it looks.

Nah... oddly colored stones like that just look toyish.
I feel the same way about any sax that is laquered something wierd, such as black. I hate these players that use the odd color to get all kinds of "wows" from people who know absoultely nothing about the quality of an instrument. To most people, that $400 black chineese crap sax is a professional and my $2,500 laquered (gold) Custom Z is just another one of those normal ones.
Anyways, aren't instruments supposed to be about the sound. Since when have they become a fasion statement?

boc, my experience is that most people are wowed by my horns' looks only after they hear me play and want to talk and then see the horn and comment on it or question me about it....
UNLESS they are sax players to start with, and then they are always looking at my horns as I play them....wondering what they are.
Here in Japan everyone is floored when I show them the Cannonball the first time. They love the sound and the way they play first, the look second...just like me.
I have converted several die-hard Selmer fans here.
So why have plain jane laq (I am excluding the Ref 54 alto from this category...gorgeous laq color!) when you can have a looker?;)
