I am curoius what others are using on their B&S tenors, I have gone through a number of different mpcs and currently using a JJ hr* with good results.

I play a Fibracell Med-soft reed on an Otto Link STM 7* MP on my Medusa and love the tone. It was straight out of the box-I don't feel it needs any 'rework' as so many claim.

Hi there, I'm new in this forum, I live and play in Italy

I own an awesome B&S Medusa Alto Sax, setted up with a Mouthpiece Phil Barone NY 7 and Superial D.C. reeds #3 and Rouner ligature great sound, warm but strong enough and never tinny on the high register. :)

i,ve had my b&s 2001 for about 7 yrs. i started out with a t95 for a few yrs. then went to rubber pieces. right now it's a morgan L7, tweaked to .098 by mojo, with f. louie lig. & brancher jazz 3 1/2 reeds. also a stock morgan 5m with f. louie lig. & hemke 3 gives a nice tight sound.

My favorite mouthpiece is an inexpensive Otto Link NY 7* (new model) with Java reeds and Olegature.
I also own a Ponzol II-V-I whose sound resembles a lot the Link, just more centered. It is easier to play in the upper register but overall I prefer the sound of the Link (comes closer to the tenor sound I have in mind). I prefer ZZ reeds on this one.
This covers the "dark" side.

On the brighter side, I was very surprised by the Runyon metal Quantum: it is the easiest to play among all the pieces I tried or own and probably the most flexible. It can make my B&S 2001 scream when pushed or sing with an appealing mellow tone when blown gently. In this case my favorite reed is the V-16.

Not so happy with any HR mouthpieces I tried, but that's probably just me.
