Hello!

I am from Germany and I am interested in the "Big Bell Professional Arc Soprano" (semi-curved or saxello style). My dealer in Germany said that it would cost about 2800 Euros (3.706 $ !!!). That's too much for me and I think it isn't correct when you consider the Dollar price at the moment. Do you know a dealer who can ship this saxophone to Germany and what is the price for it?

Thank you, Okami

Have you checked with Cyberstore Thomann or Musiktreffpunkt (Roland Ekle)? Their prices are usually pretty decent. You might also check with The Saxofoonwinkel in the NL who has a great selection. But I don't know specifically if they handle Cannonballs, sorry.

A problem, as you've probably noticed, is that the Cannonballs are not widely distributed here but a friend of mine played one recently at a sax dealsr's. I don't know where he was but I think in the area of Grünstadt (the one between Kaiserslautern and Ludwigshaven). Perhaps a web search could come up with the name of this dealer.

Have you sent an e-mail directly to the Cannonball guys in Salt Lake City? They may be able to give you some additional info.

You might also try PM-ing mosplace. She might have some ideas since she deals in sax accessories she might know about some Cannonball dealers.

Good luck. If I find out the name of this guy near Grünstadt I'll post it here.

As far as I know the only Cannonball dealer in Germany is Session Geblaese in Walldorf. Saxpoint in the Netherlands imports the saxes for whole Europe. Prices are kept artificially high. I questioned the guys at Session Geblaese but they told me they are not allowed to sell under a specified limit!

Markus - that must be the guy my friend visited. In the direction of Grünstadt from Kaiserslautern...just,er, a little further, LOL. But that must be the guy. Sorry those prices are inflated. Sucks. But you know what? The Cannonball company then gets what it deserves because it's certainly not the only game in town.

Okami- what about a Keilwerth SX 90 or a B&S?

okami,

If you have a friend in the USA, I would suggest having that person buy it at their local Cannonball dealer and then ship it to you. For that matter, you could buy your friend a round-trip ticket to carry the saxophone to you in Germany, celebrate with a few hefeweizen (or kristallweizen), and still save money, compared to the prices you are seeing in Germany!

Good luck,

Stacey

These also show up on eBay from time to time...I have seen a couple in the last six months as well as several curved sopranos...

I suggest you e-mail Scimonetti's in the U.S. I would not be surprised if they will ship one to you, and they have some of the best prices and service around......
