I've been trying to transcribe Wayne Shorters song Footprints awhile now, bit it's just so hard, and i always get stuck in the same place, i can't figure it out. Do you have any good suggestion of another song to start with, or some general tips, if there's any good webpage or something like that to check out. How did you learn, and what equipment do you use?

I've got another thread going called the Transcription Primer. (http://saxontheweb.myforums.net/viewtopic.php?t=2283) It's got some general information in it, but it's by no means complete. Unfortunately, not many people visit this forum, so getting any thread running will be difficult. [/shameless plug]

That said, there is software that can slow down the speed of songs on CD without altering the pitch. I use SlowBlast, which came with my copy of Band in a Box. Have you tried using any program like this?

Transkriber works perfect and does everything you need in order to transcribe. You can get it thru Reed Kottler Music.
